Dr. Gupta did his schooling from Don Bosco Alaknanda, New Delhi. BDS from VPDC , Sangli , Maharashtra and then went onto to do his Masters in Orthodontics (MDS) from Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai in 2002 . He then went on to do his Diplomate in National Board ( DNB ), conducted by Min Of Health , Govt of India , in Orthodontics and M Orth RCS (Orthodontics) from Edinburgh , UK in 2002. He is a Fellow of Pierre Fauchard Academy, World Federation of Orthodontists , ICCDE and ICD.
He was the founder editor of IOS Times(2008-2010) and founder editor of the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS)Journal and Newsletter – APOS Trends and APOS News(2010-2012).
He was elected as Executive Member of the Indian Orthodontic Society(IOS) from 2006-2011 continously for 5 terms and then from 2014-15 , having served the IOS for 6 years . He served as member of the Constitutional Committee of the IOS twice . He is Convenor of the OsGOD - Orthodontic Study Group of Delhi and under his leadership OsGOD was awarded the best study group award at the 50th IOC , Hyderabad.
He was the Organising Secretary for “Beyond Boundary” (IOS Mid Year Convention) in 2009 at Bangkok, Pattaya and 2011 at Singapore Dental Hospital , Singapore and Chairman at IOS Mid Year Convention ,2010 at Prince Philip Dental Hospital , Hong Kong and Macau.
He was the Treasurer at the 44thIOS Conference at New Delhi and was the Chairman Trade at the 8thAPOC & 47th IOC at New Delhi, India.He has conducted numerous workshops and hands on courses at various study groups and PG Conventions, Invited and Key Note Speaker at various National and International Conferences and has travelled across the globe.
He underwent training in Lingual Orthodontics in the state of the art Lingual System ( Incognito) at Seoul and learnt CADCAM Systems in Orthodontics and Implants at Spain. A pioneer to be certified in Invisalign System in India amongst the first 10 orthodontists in India.
He has number of publications to his credit and chaired various scientific sessions including the SAARC Orthodontic Congress. He was the Scientific Chairman (E Posters Section) for the Delhi Dental Show , held by IDA ,in the year 2012 and 2013 and Chairman, E posters , 69thIDC ,2016, Delhi. Dr Ashish Gupta was Chairman, E posters of Delhi State IDA Conference which was held in 2017 .
He has been the Executive Committee Member of IDA Delhi State Branch thrice and was the Chairman ,CDE, IDA Delhi State Branch,2013`14 and President , IDA , Central Delhi Branch , 2014-15. He was a Professor in Dept Of Orthodontics at Harsarn Das Dental College & Hospital, Ghaziabad and has been a post graduate teacher and examiner in Orthodontics at SRM University Chennai , Gujarat University, Rajasthan University , Santosh University and MP University.
