PROFESSION HEALTH: We've been too far to give now

We are not perfect but we give our best every day. We are bounded to fail one day simply following the laws of statistics and we will have to cope with that. We treat people, we do not have the right to fail… so we have pushed our training and formation to their edges to postpone as far as possible that day where the odds catch up with us. Remember the equation?

1- DIAGNOSIS, 2- TREATMENT, 3- REEVALUATION

That’s how all of science is advancing, how all of medicine is based upon. Well, the last part has been cut out of our power since we need to protect the patients. And that’s fair, but we’ve never replaced it with anything else to cope with, we simply left the equation incomplete. That’s why I found it so important to write this book and to put some light on the matter, our matter, our Life.

Dr. Jean De Serres, former President of Hema-Quebec agrees with me as I say that we must look for recognition and ways to feed our human half. Accepting a thank you, inviting a testimony or, in this case, looking back at our reality from the envying eyes of those wanting nothing more than to have a place among our ranks are great ways to find some value in our line of duty.
