PROFESSION HEALTH: Financial literacy is a key to happiness
After everything that we have been through, in education and in science we trust. What can be replicated, with a proven outcome, is what we pledge by. Unfortunately, we’ve learned to heal, to save, to care. We never learned to count, the real math, the finance of life.
Even if money won’t make your happiness, a lack of financial wisdom will ensure your misery. That’s is why I have decided to finish the first TOME of this great Journey, the one of the White Coat, on Financial Wisdom. Some of us are fortunate to learn from mentors as I had the chance. Dr. Kien Quan Diec, the wise doctor and kind mentor, those words are in your honor.
Without you, I couldn’t have been nor built what I am and I did. Dr. Diec opened my eyes to not only the numbers but also on how to understand the lyrics and poetic of finance. Yes, finance is math, to add and to substrate. But math is also to multiply and divide. More than math, finance is a language by itself, a tongue that if understood can move mountains and build cities and countries.
Finances is both mathematics and psychology, just like medicine is half science half human.
- Dr. Bak Nguyen, from PROFESSION HEALTH
Finance is a language that you can’t simply just learn and apply with a proven formula. Real finance, life’s finance, it’s a way of thinking to communicate your mind to the world and gather your peers' interest around the desired outcome.
I know what you are thinking right now: why so many words, shouldn’t we talk about numbers and theorems? That’s where we been misled for years. Most of us, won’t have the fortune to be trained by a great mind in finance. So, Life itself will be your teacher. In other words, we will learn from our mistakes!
From our first tax report to our first income statement. From the partial tip of an uncle to the counsel of an adviser, we are trying to learn bits and pieces of the puzzle without seeing the big picture. I’ve been through most of that too, before meeting with Dr. Diec. Trust me, I share your pain. And the pain can be avoided!
A lack of financial knowledge about its merit and role will doom us to a life of misery. Those following chapters are about the empowerment to ease our way to happiness through the path of financial science.
I asked for favors, for you, for all of us. In the next chapters, I will introduce to you, the bankers of Mdex, professionals who I learned to trust and who learned to trust me. People I now call friends with whom I shared my dreams and are working to make our life easier, all our lives…
