MIDLIFE CRISIS: To burn everything down and to start again...
As time goes by, the lava released between the cracks will rapidly solidify, fusing the broken pieces, but some time in the wrong formation with no logic nor usefulness. Before the lava sets, we need to act. We will get burned from the heat, but it is either that or the permanent settling of scars and maybe the waste of two or more important pieces of the puzzle, the masterpieces of both our lives.
It is simply impossible to fuse all the pieces smartly all at once. We have to prioritize, the biggest ones first and then, the others. If the major pieces are out of reach, start with the one in front.
We need to act fast to feel the Hope and win, as small as it is. Then, we might need to heat a few bad scars again to break the lava and to reorganize the pieces wrongly blended. The process will be painful, but the pain will get lesser as we move forward. As we move forward. What’s the alternative? To stay in and to let pain dictates the rules. Not to me, not to us.
Hope first, and Love will come back slowly. There is no perfect, right and complete solution here. Just the WILL to move forward, in the direction of the flow of Life, but in our terms, the one with Hope and a chance to get out ahead, to be happy again. If we stop seeing this crisis as guilt, blame and regrets, we have a good chance to surf through this one as we surf through most of our problems in Life.
Use that Fear now to move ahead. Chanel Anger and pain into Fear and from that Fear, start to pick up the piece and rebuild. Fear will eventually change into Hope as we start to see part of the ground settling in, in our terms.
“To fight melancholy and depression, use the fear to keep moving until the pain and Anger completely fade away.”
- Dr. Bak Nguyen, from REBOOT
Once again, Time is not on our side here. It is not a race, it is a salvation and a rescue mission, one for our soul, identity and happiness. If not for us, we should do it for those we love, those we once loved and those we will love. It’s still Love with a capital L.
So do it, leave Guilt and Blame aside and move forward. The best is yet to come. We must believe in it so it can happen.…
